Frolicking in Feerrott

The Painful Assaulting of Agony

by: Tony "RadarX" Jones

"Bootstrutter's Field Guide to the Feerrott" describes this zone as:

" A place filled with lush exotic beauty. This jungle has stood its ground for ages and still thrives to this day. Through the ages the children of war and the children of fear have met and vied for control of the jungle, all the while having to fend off the great dangers of the fauna and sometimes carnivorous flora. Ruins of attempted civilizations rest all about vines and roots entwined around stone, the jungle reclaiming itself. Only the tribal lizardmen have been able to maintain a long existence with this land and it is with great respect for the dangerous jungle that they still remain."

This provides a accurate description of Feerrott. Deep within this jungle lives a grotesque and evil beast whose rarity defies description. Her name is Agony. Why is Agony so special you ask? Other than her charming looks? Within in her nasty corpse lies a book called the "The Ill Fated Cleric" which begins the Screaming Mace heritage quest.

So how do we find Agony? She spawns among the Terror Wraiths in the most eastern portion of Feerrott. Following the river through the zone will bring you to a wall with a small entrance allowing you to pass underneath. Assuming you survive the barrage of giant bugs and Constructs of Thule, you will end up at a lake just past the Temple of Cazic Thule. On the western shores of this lake, is where she makes her home. There are a number spawns of Terror Wraiths along these shores ripe for the killing. While there isn't any evidence this will speed up her spawning but it does give you something to do in the interim. There will be a spawn about every 15-30 minutes. It will either be Agony, or a group of 4 Terror Wraiths notifying you of another failed attempt.

So you kill group after group, relentlessly trying to get her spawn. Finally, after what seems like years, she does and it appears she's brought her even uglier sister Despair along for the ride. Like a woman jaded by bad dating relationships, Agony lashes out with Despair and another non-named wraith in tow. Properly prepared, your group should have no issue beating back Agony and her crownies.

Personally. there is little advice I can offer you, other than my experience. First, make sure that Agony is at least conning green to you so there will be a chest dropped. Mentor down if you must. Prepare yourself for a unexciting time intensive camp which will be anti-climactic but will reap you the journal. Throw in your favorite DVD, grab a magazine, or do that homework, report, TenTonHammer article you should be doing.
