Who's Still Playing Beta...and When Does the Head Start Begin?

There seems to be a bit of confusion among the huddled masses yearning to play Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach (DDO), so allow us to clear things up. Keep in mind that this information applies to the North American beta and launch, while the European beta has a different timeline.

Collective groans were heard on both the Orien and Kundarak servers as beta came to a close on February 12 after a generous 3-day extension from Turbine. Withdrawal symptoms most likely began to set in mere hours later as anxious fans circled DDO's launch date, February 28, on their calendars. But beta continues, or will until February 19, for those who preordered DDO and have time remaining on the 10-day beta pass that came with the preorder package.

To make things crystal clear, here's the timeline:

  • February 12 - Regular beta ended; beta continues for preorder customers with time remaining on their 10-day beta pass
  • February 19 - 10-day beta pass expires and the final beta server closes
  • February 24 - Head Start event for preorder customers begins on live servers
  • February 28 - DDO official North American launch
