THE VANGUARDIAN to hit the stands!

Dateline: internet Dec. 7, 2005.
New Vanguard journal commences at
Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer. Ace reporter Raya is on the news.

Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer is pleased to present a series of articles by
Raya, a familiar name in Vanguard circles. Under the heading of The
Vanguardian
, Raya will be presenting news and views of timely
interest. The rolling format of hot topics and great interviews will commence
next week with an interview of the staunch Staunch of Epic
Vanguard
, also a familiar face on the Vanguard scene.

Exceptional interviews will alternate with editorials by Raya, including
answers to possible questions from the fans. In the works is an interview
with Woody Hearn, the much-read cartoonist of GU
Comics
. The Vanguardian will also explore an ancient
promise by Allakhazam
himself to provide us with an interview. But we will not stop at interviews
with the great and near great--we want to go right down to the grassroots,
the average Vanguard community member. There are a million stories out
there. We mean to get us some.

In addition to an interview every other week, we will be providing editorials
and opinion pieces about the hot topics that hit the official Vanguard
forum. What bugs you, what charms you, what are you really looking for?

What
is the consensus about beta? How will guilds be handled in Vanguard? What
IS the best way to organize a raid? Who really is the funniest community
member? Is Glip really a gnome? All these questions and more may be offered
up on the altar of journalism.

Along with the hot topics of the day, The Vanguardian will
take a look at how the community hangs together, what makes the Vanguard
community better, worse, different than any other community? Besides being
class specialists in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, VTTH seems to be on the
way to being a booster and promoter of the fan sites AND the fans. Read
your weekly VANGUARDIAN…it might be featuring YOU!

To add to the fun and anticipation of the first column, Raya provides
a twist and an insight into human nature when she interviews. Take a look
at one of her previous interviews:

PEOPLE BEHIND THE SCENES AT VANGUARD - an ongoing series that
spotlights one of the Sigil devs working on the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
project. There have been three such interviews, with a fourth in the offing.

Excerpt from PEOPLE
BEHIND THE SCENES AT VANGUARD: Spotlight On Dave Gilbertson, Producer

- originally published at Warcry on Dec. 15, 2004.

The
first thing I noticed about Dave when I met him at the Vanguard Summit
in California in October was the air of confidence and relaxation he
had about him. How could this be? Here the whole Sigil office (the company
created by Brad McQuaid, CEO, and head honcho at Vanguard) was a-tizzy
with 21 reporters tromping through their offices, noisily exclaiming
about everything they saw, greedily asking questions, and generally
putting the office routine into an uproar.

Quiet and unassuming, Dave wore a little grin
of mischief that seems permanently hovering over his face. Later that
evening, at Dave & Busters, he enhanced that ambience with an additional
air of kindness and caring. Unfortunately, we didn't get to talk much
there. It wasn't until I interviewed him face to face on IM the other
evening that I got to know David Gilbertson, lately promoted to Producer
at Sigil, the man and the person. His story…to use an overworn
phrase…rocks!

Fans are invited to add to the topics by writing Raya at [email protected].
If you spot a topic that has largely gone unanswered, or a burning concern
that people rant about but don't do anything, write her. Provide her with
links and additional information if you have it. Or if you know of someone
who just needs to be interviewed, let her know. Be not just a reader,
but a formulator of news. Perhaps you could even be the headline!

Watch next Wednesday (Dec. 14) for the first real issue of The Vanguardian
(a Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer exclusive)!
