Giving the Gift of Vanguard

This week, we take the opportunity to discuss some the great gift opportunities Vanguard can bring to the masses. If you don't understand a term or abbreviation I use here, please check our Game Terms 101.

The holidays are a time for friends and family to gather and share some joy. As the years have gone by, it seems this time of year is continually getting more commercialized everywhere you look. Each year, the pressure to give bigger and better gifts continues to mount.

Rather than spending our hard-earned cash on gifts that will be tossed to the wayside by next year though, I have another suggestion. Why don't you get the gamer in your life something from Vanguard? While I'd like to claim this idea was all my own, I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the true source, Akahn.

After being friends with someone for over 15 years, you really begin to get a sense of just what the perfect gift would be. Did he buy me a gift card, sweater, or some other equally needless (although no less appreciated) gift? No. Instead, he logged into Vanguard and purchased an item for my Shadowhound mount and a special gift for me from the local broker.

Enchanted Truesilver Horseshoes

Imagine the shock on my face when I checked my mail in the game last night when I saw this sitting there waiting for me. The robe may not be great to some players, but it is a huge upgrade for me! As much as my wife and parents will kill me for saying this (so don't believe the note saying I've packed up and moved away!), this was absolutely the coolest gift I received this year!

Of course since I thought it was such a cool gift, it prompted me to wonder what Vanguard related gifts everyone else received this year?

A Sweet Piece of Armor

This can be any piece of wearable equipment for any sphere. Got a new apron for your blacksmith? This choice is for you!

The Coolest of Weapons

This can be any weapon, shield. If you received an awesome crafting or harvesting tool, it goes in here as well.

Horseshoes For Speed, Speed, Speed

Not all of us can have a personal bard attached to our hips, so let us know if someone was nice enough to give your steed a new set of horseshoes.

A Rare or Ultra-Rare Resource

What else can I say? Resource, dust, etc? If can be used to make something else, put it in here!

A Computer Upgrade

As gamers in general, any excuse to upgrade your computer is a welcome one. What's better than buying that sweet new component you've been eyeballing all month though? Having someone give it to you as a gift.

I Have To Keep My Love of Vanguard a Secret

Coward! Ok, maybe you're not, but you may feel like one. Rather than risk being ridiculed for your love of a great video game, you've chosen to keep your hidden desires within the game a secret. Since you kept this secret so well though, no one was able to get you anything Vanguard related. See how you lose in this situation? Climb the tallest mountain top and proclaim your true feelings for the game so you end up with some sweet loot next year! Ok, maybe that's a little excessive, but you get my point.
