Lord of the Rings Online Creature Bestiary: Ered Luin

    Ered Luin is one of the least traveled of zones, excepting Thorin's Hall.  Full of low level creatures meant to challenge new adventurers, the creatures here are usually not too difficult, though they can pose a challenge for low level adventurers.  Most important for low level characters are knowledge of what creatures are signature creatures, and rarely, what they particularly vulnerable.  Certainly, a beginning hero will not have access to different damage types, but often their special abilities will have different damage types, such as fire or light.  In these cases, getting a companion with that damage type can be quite handy.

    The creatures of Ered Luin are most difficult in Haugh Lin and (especially) Rath Teriag.  From Thorin's Gate, the creatures become more and more difficult heading South and East.  From Falathlorn, difficulty increases until one reaches Haugh Lin and Rath Teraig, to the North and West.  The most difficult creatures are level 11 elites found in Rath Teriag.
