Fields of Bree
Guide to Staddle Quests
By Darkgolem
Staddle is a small farming community found south of and east of
Bree. Surrounded by the Midgewater Marshes to the west, and the
Chetwood to the south, this town is far from peaceful. From the
marshes there are incursions of goblins arriving often, and bandits are
threatening the farmers to the south. This town is the perfect
place for a low level adventurer to get some experience under his or
her belt, and coins in his or her pocket.
The
Midgewater Marshes are full of neekerbreekers (giant locusts), spiders,
giant flies and goblins. All but the goblins are part of some of
the deeds of this area. No threats but the goblins (who will gang
up on you if you let them) are particularly dangerous. The
Chetwood is full of bears and boars, and a ruins in the Chetwood (known
as Yellow Tree Ruins locally, but more accurately known as Ost Baranor)
is the home of a large band of bandits led by a very dangerous leader,
Jasper Mudbottom.
Most of the quests here are not particularly hard, excepting the "Two
Chieftains", "Fixing Falco's Folly" and "Falco's Garden" quests.
Some of the quests require a lot of running around without fighting,
but the distances you must run are not particularly far. There is
also some crafting available here, especially farming, though the NPC's
who sell crafting goods are not completely stocked in some cases.

Reedy (Staddle)

always on the watch for
the goblins, Watcher Reedy believes the creatures of the Midgewater
Marshes, east of Staddle, are no less of a threat to the town.

Marches
The Midgewater Marshes lie to the east of Staddle, beyond Swatmidge's
farm.
Watcher Reedy is worried that the growing Neekerbreeker population in
the north of the Midgewater Marshes poses a threat to Staddle that is
being overlooked by the watchers because of the goblin troubles.
