Dales of the Shire

Guide to Woodhall, Bamfurlong
and Stock Quests

By Darkgolem

Woodhall, Stock and Bamfurlong are three communities found in the
eastern Shire, near the edge of the Brandywine river.  Isolated
from other parts of the Shire, these communities are more independent
than other Shire communities, but still need assistance from outsiders
upon occasion.  In particular, recently these communities have
suffered from a group of Bandits who have inhabited the hills in the
southeastern href="http://lotro.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=113#Shire">Shire.
These bandits have kidnapped, stolen and overall been a threat to the
inhabitants of these communities.

There are several quests which lead to the hills south of Woodhall, and
all involve dealing with the bandits here.  One other quest stands
out, this being "The Warg of Budgeford" which is the cumulation of the
dealings with the wolves who have been found near Budgeford.  All
the quests here are fun and interesting.

Rollo Boffin did not have any information specifically about Gerebert

of Longo Burrow's waggon are somehow connected. He has asked you to go
search a clearing just off the Stock Road for any sign of the missing
waggon.

abandoned it when his father died. Rollo is curious if Longo is using
it again for some other purpose.
Search Old Odo's Farmstead

Odo Burrow's old leaf-farm is south of the clearing where you found the
missing waggon.

When you found Longo's missing waggon, there was no sign of Gerebert
Took, but the leaf had been moved southwards. Rollo Boffin suggested
you search boxes and crates at Odo Burrow's old farm for some sign of
Gerebert. He warned you to bring friends, for it might be dangerous.

(Author's note: There is a caged wagon in the encampment near Woodhall,
Gerebert is in it)

(Author's note: A single friend should be enough for this quest.)

mail satchel from getting wet!

(Author's note: Bolger is found at 31.3S, 65.4W, in the east portion of
Budgeford.  You have just enough time to run it and avoid nosey
hobbits, but you cannot afford to delay at all.  The waterlogged
ford crossing to Budgeford is not too deep, and will not fail the
quest.)

Daisy Hornblower has one of Holly's bad pies, which you should take

for a slice, especially since she has to bake fresh pies for all her

Bamfurlong
Farmer Maggot informed you that
Violet Underhill, the missing member of Mat Harfoot's "Vigilance
Committee", did stop by. He thinks she may have gone to investigate a
camp of ruffians.
Search for Violet Underhill

The ruffians' camp is west of Bamfurlong. You must ford a stream at the
top of a waterfall to enter the camp, which is set on the heights at
Narrowcleave.

Farmer Maggot suggested you search the camp he told Violet about, just
in case she went there alone

(Author's note: Violet is found at 34.6S, 66.6W.)

Escort Violet Underhill to Safety

Violet Underhill is being held prisoner in a cart.

Violet Underhill, against Farmer Maggot's warning, went to confront a
camp of ruffians by herself. Now it is up to you to rescue her.

(Author's note:  Protecting Violet is hard, so you might want a
friend.)
