In an effort to crack down on the use of fraudulent names to avoid gaming restrictions, China is now requiring players to tie their real name to game accounts. While that might seem like hardly a big deal to us in the West, because the use of credit cards to pay for subscription games is common. Over there however, with game cards it was possible to stay completely anonymous as you game, so this will be quite a change. Gamepolitics is reporting 4 online game companies have already been suspended for not providing updated software to accommodate the new requirements.
