The world of comic books has been a staple of childhood for millions since their rise to power in the 1960's. Frequently misunderstood by popular media and even scoffed at by literary intellects, the universe of characters like Green Lantern or Wolverine are just as real in our minds as one of those emo vamps from Twilight. Today Coyote examines the geek obsession with the comic book world and proposes that even as an adult, maybe comic books aren't that bad.

If and when other adults mock you for your love of the Man of Steel, or roll their eyes as you proudly brandish a brightly colored issue of Deadpool, you simply have to remind them of this: They stayed up late, wore a specially knit and brightly colored scarf, and waited in a mile-long line for the midnight release of the last Harry Potter book.
