Ten Ton Hammer - Taking MMO Gamers to the Next Level!

In honor of Vanguard's 2nd birthday, they are throwing a contest for the players! If you have a knack for visual artistry, or even if you don't and want to try your hand at something new, here is your chance to make it pay off.

To celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of Vanguard Saga of Heroes™, the Vanguard Team is hosting the “It Takes Two” contest.

Contest:

From Thursday, January 29, 2009 (12:01 am, US Pacific Time) through Sunday, March 1, 2009 at (11:59 pm, US Pacific Time), the Vanguard Team will be hosting the "It Takes Two" contest.

Using live photography (real life pictures), in-game imagery through screenshots or modified screenshots, original artwork, and their special skills, Vanguard community members have this opportunity to depict a visual representation of two Vanguard characters or Non-Player Characters (NPCs) or a mixture of both within heroic scene in the world of Telon, by participating in this official Vanguard contest. Both characters must be depicted together in the Artwork as one image.

Winners will be announced on or about March 13, 2009.

How to Enter:

Submissions should be sent in an e-mail to SOEContests@soe.sony.com. Be sure to include all of the following information with your submission:

* Subject of Email: Vanguard “It Takes Two” Contest
* Real Name:
* Mailing Address: (Street Address Apt #, City, Zip Code - Do not use PO Box)
* Forum Community Handle: (if applicable)
* E-mail Address:
* Submission Title: (What you call your image.)
* Description: Provide a 100 words or less description that tells a story about what is being displayed in the image.
* Hyperlink to where the file is hosted - All files must be hosted externally and be made available to download. Do not attach the file to the entry e-mail.
* In-Game Character name and information is optional but will be included if submitted.

Images:
Images submitted must be in the form live photography (real life pictures), Vanguard screenshot or modified Vanguard screenshots without copyrighted materials included, and/or original artwork. Do not submit any images that are copyrighted or those that belong to someone else. Potential winners will be required to sign a release form regarding the ownership and usage of the image.

The Selection Process:

A panel of judges will review the submissions and select a winner. The panel of judges consists of members from Vanguard’s Community, Development, Public Relations, and other management teams. In case of a tie, the judges will determine which submission best fits the theme of Vanguard and the contest.

When viewing the entries, the panel judges will use a 0-100 point scale, with 0-35 points for originality, 0-35 points for creativity, and 0-30 points for thematic content consistent with the boundless possibilities for adventure within the world of Vanguard (including storylines, characters, cinematography, special effects, editing and/or the embodiment of the Vanguard adventuring spirit).

Character and item names are subject to final approval of SOE and must be consistent with the game Terms of Service Agreement.

After the judging has been completed, the final approval process begins. An email will be sent to the potential winners and they will be required to submit a response within a specific allotted period.
Once the final approval process ends, the winners will be announced on the Vanguard Players website.

* An in-game portrait will be named after the selected submission. (This item and its properties will be determined by the SOE Development team)
* An In-game Title for selected character. (Title to be determined by SOE Development Team)
* One 90-Day SOE Game Card (Retail Value: $44.99)

Second Place (up to 2 winners)

* An In-game Title for selected character. (Title to be determined by SOE Development Team)
* One 90-Day SOE Game Card (Retail Value: $44.99)

Third Place (up to 2 winners)

* An In-game Title for selected character. (Title to be determined by SOE Development Team)
* One 30-Day SOE Game Card (Retail Value: $14.99)

Honorable Mentions

* Submissions selected as honorable mentions will only receive recognition on the Vanguard Website, Forums, and other sources of news.
