Guide to Barbarian Feats

Feats 31-40 style="font-style: italic;">

By Nuitaran

We have rated the Feats below based on our experience as to which are
going to be most helpful and useful. Feats are rated on a scale of 1-5
with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best. A rating of 1 or 2 means
the Feat is pretty much useless to a barbarian and one that you
probably want to avoid.

A rating of 3 indicates that the Feat can be
used with some careful planning, or with certain class combinations. We
reserve a rating of 4 only for those Feats that are almost necessary
picks for certain types of builds or class combinations. A rating of 5
designates the best of the barbarian Feats and ones players should
seriously consider for any DDO Build involving barbarians.

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">31. Point Blank Shot

Official Text: "You gain +1 bonus on ranged attacks and damage within
30 feet."

Comments: Barbarians aren’t the best class choice for an archer.

Rating: 1
32.
Power Attack

Official Text: "While using Power Attack mode, you trade your attack
bonus for extra damage."

Prerequisite: Strength 13

Comments: You can’t hurt something if you can’t hit it, and the damage
increase you get for this feat isn’t nearly worth the Attack Bonus
tradeoff. This is only worth taking to get to Improved Sunder and even
that isn’t so great. Sometime in the future it may be a prerequisite
for truly incredible feats, but that will be a long time in coming.

Rating:
2

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">33. Precise Shot

Official Text: “Your missile attacks may pass through other characters
and monsters to strike their target.”

Prerequisite: Point Blank Shot, Received by Ranger 11

Comments: This is a great Archery feat, but there are classes that make
much better Archers than a Barbarian.

Rating: 1
34.
Precision

Official Text: "While using Precision mode, you trade half of your
damage for a +4 bonus to your attack rolls."

Comments: You shouldn’t have much trouble hitting with a Barbarian,
ever. This isn’t a worthwhile feat.

Rating:
2

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">35. Quick Draw

Official Text: "You can switch weapons and change armors faster."

Prerequisite: Base Attack Bonus +1

Comments: When do you need to change armor in battle? A shield and a
weapon change almost as fast you hit the hotkey. That’s all you need.
WASTE!!!

Rating: 1
36.
Rapid Reload

Official Text: "You reload a crossbow faster than normal."

Prerequisite: Proficiency with any type of Crossbow

Comments: If you plan on doing a lot of Crossbow shooting, you might
want to consider this, but it probably isn’t worth a feat slot.

Rating:
2

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">37. Rapid Shot

Official Text: "You can fire ranged attacks faster and reload faster
when using a ranged weapon."

Prerequisite: Dexterity 13, Point Blank Shot, Received by Ranger Level 2

Comments: Not worth it for a Barbarian.

Rating: 2
38.
Resilience

Official Text: "While using Resilience mode, you trade attack bonus and
half of your damage for a bonus to saving throws."

Prerequisite: Constitution 13, Base Attack Bonus +1

Comments: The save bonus isn’t worth the tradeoff to attack bonus.

Rating:
1

style="vertical-align: top; background-color: rgb(212, 201, 125);"> style="font-weight: bold;">39. Resist Poison

Official Text: "You are especially resistant to poison thanks to years
of training. You receive a +4 bonus on all saves against poison"

Comments: Barbarians already have a massive Fortitude save, taking this
would just be redundant.

Rating: 1
40.
Sap

Official Text: "Using this attack, you may render the target briefly
senseless, though it will become active if damaged again. Some
creatures may be immune to the sap effect."

Comments: Sap sounds awesome, but the stun is broken if the affected
enemy is attacked again and the cooldown is 15 seconds. Check out
Stunning Blow instead.
