    This is Butchers Path, infamous death trap to new
adventurers according to tales told
in the Leaky Dinghy. In truth,

there is some merit to the tales as the quest can be a bit sticky for
inexperienced
parties.

A note on the enemies in here. For the most part the kobold rank and
file are easily killed despite their numbers. However their main job is
to bog you down while the throwers toss fire at you and the shamans
cast spells. The shamans themselves are mildly annoying in that they
can only cast a small acid ball attack and one href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=71">magic
missile. However
for a low level party this can be a sincere problem so make sure to
target the casters first if at all possible.

The grey oozes will on occasion pop up in a fight with the kobolds
making things tricky as you have to try to either kill the ooze fast
with your ooze killing weapon or risk damaging your main weapon by
focusing on the much more dangerous href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=36">kobold
packs.  Of the named
monsters the only true threat is Cyressy, however be careful with
Prysass as he can and will cast Acid Arrow.  In all this is an
excellent low level quest for building team work skills in a new party
and the opportunities for exp bonuses are pretty good as conquest,
ransack, and vigilant sight bonuses are all available.

style="border: 2px solid ; width: 250px; height: 235px;" align="right">
Lets take
it step by step. style="font-family: tahoma;">  You enter into a sewer with the
only possible direction to go being north.  On the style="font-family: tahoma;"> far northern wall is a hidden door style="font-family: tahoma;"> in where you find the Defeat the Kobold
Ambush objective.  Basically a few kobolds are going style="font-family: tahoma;"> to attack you and you'll get a small style="font-family: tahoma;"> exp bonus for taking them out.  style="font-family: tahoma;">However if you pass it,  you'll
eventually come to another hidden door immediately style="font-family: tahoma;"> after a style="font-family: tahoma;"> right turn leading north.

There is a lever behind here and another hidden door with style="font-family: tahoma;"> a second lever a few feet ahead on style="font-family: tahoma;"> the other side of the
intersection.  If you pull both levers it'll open the metal style="font-family: tahoma;"> door to the north of them, behind that style="font-family: tahoma;">  door is Vorag the Vengeful.
He's your typical ogre in that he's deadly if style="font-family: tahoma;"> he gets one good hit on you but other style="font-family: tahoma;"> than that his chest is easy pickings. style="font-family: tahoma;">

Taking a left at the intersection with the two hidden doors however
will quickly lead you to an
Intelligence rune and a

Strength lever.   If you get both of them it opens a door to
your north east that
contains
the Kobolds Hidden Treasure.  Below
style="font-family: tahoma;"> this area is a large intersection in
which Kobolds attack in large numbers.  A trend style="font-family: tahoma;"> you'll notice is kobolds in this quest style="font-family: tahoma;">rarely attack you 2-3 at a time.  href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album48&id=Get_Used_To_This_Sight&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php"> alt="Packs of Kobolds Attacking"
src="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/files/gallery/albums/album48/Get_Used_To_This_Sight.sized.jpg"
style="border: 2px solid ; width: 250px; height: 186px;" align="left">
It's more like 8-10 at a time with 2 of their style="font-family: tahoma;"> Shamans in the back. style="font-family: tahoma;">

Take a left at the intersection for a shrine.  Take a right to
lead to two corridors with
two more big mobs of kobolds.  After
style="font-family: tahoma;"> that you're in a room with some water on
the right and another large mob of kobolds style="font-family: tahoma;"> waiting for you when ya get there.

There is a href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=78">trap
box in the
far right corner right before the water. It shuts off the spikes
style="font-family: tahoma;"> in the underwater tunnel below.  If
you have a really low swim
due to low levels or low Str the swim could pose a small problem.
style="font-family: tahoma;">

However if you make it, you can travel through an style="font-family: tahoma;">upper corridor with 2 locked doors,
and the shaman, Prysass with a chest.  You'll ultimately style="font-family: tahoma;"> lead right back to the water where you
entered so it's worth the
short detour. href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album48&id=Rest_Shrine&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php"> alt="Second Rest Shrine"
src="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/files/gallery/albums/album48/Rest_Shrine.sized.jpg"
style="border: 2px solid ; width: 250px; height: 187px;" align="right">

Taking a left at the
water room you'll come to corridor that leads to another left
style="font-family: tahoma;"> with a hidden door in the second alcove
to the right as you
enter.  There is a chest behind the door.  There will be a
str door to your left
with
the troglodyte champion objective behind it.  In
style="font-family: tahoma;"> truth it's just a non-named troglodyte
with a chest. If you go right you'll find a style="font-family: tahoma;"> loop that leads to a chest.  The
chest however is a trap, upon
opening it gates shut down around you as another kobold ambush launches.
style="font-family: tahoma;">  Straight out from the ambush is a
second shrine.

You'll march on a while and
eventually come to a metal tunnel, immediately before entering
style="font-family: tahoma;">the tunnel is the fifth hidden door with
another chest.  After the tunnel you come to style="font-family: tahoma;"> a swimming area with a ladder directly
ahead of you.

size="-1"> style="font-family: tahoma;">

However to the right
and under water is a tunnel that will lead you to Warlock
style="font-family: tahoma;"> Cyressy and his chest. size="-1"> style="font-family: tahoma;">Be careful
as of all the things in here

this guys the most dangerous.  He'll cast fireball, slow, and try
to get you sick while

swinging his staff at you.  But if you beat him you can loot
style="font-family: tahoma;"> his chest and be on your merry way. style="font-family: tahoma;">

Up the ladder is the exit as well as Witch Doctor Kneeza and his
chest.  If you feel up
to it kill him and loot his chest.  Otherwise you can easily
style="font-family: tahoma;"> avoid him by dashing to the rope and
exiting that way.  In fact you'll get credit for style="font-family: tahoma;"> completing the quest just by moving near
the rope.  After that
you can go back to The Leaky Dinghy and get your reward.
style="font-family: tahoma;"> style="font-family: tahoma;">
