EVE Online's most recent expansion, Apocrypha, has been a great success. While existing players enjoy the the new aspects of gameplay and wormhole travel, new players coming in are reaping the rewards of a completely revamped New Player Experience.

In an effort to lessen the learning "cliff" that so many joke about it, developers of EVE spent some time reworking each player's first moments in game. Are more knowledgeable and better equipped pilots coming out of the tutorial since the revamp? Lets have a look at what was changed and if it has been the savior for new players that they had hoped it would be!

All this has been streamlined. You make your race, bloodline, and ancestry choices, just as you did previously, but in a much quicker and user-friendly layout (all on one page, yay!). Class options have been removed because the new EVE Online is embracing its true self and letting us know right off the bat that there are no limits on what we can do. Remember when you were little and your mommy told you that you could grow up to be anything you wanted to be? Yeah, it’s like that.
