The game is also micro-transaction based for those players that want to purchase special uniforms, new players, and other valuable items to enhance their game play. There are actually four different modes of game play in MLB Dugout Heroes. They include; tutorial, practice, single player and multi-player options. I think for me, working in the “practice mode”, severely limits my ability to accurately comment on the game’s true overall potential.
MLB Dugout Heroes seeks to capture the excitement of the real thing without taking itself too seriously. |
I can, however, summarize my first experience with MLB Dugout Heroes by saying that the game mechanics, the MLB graphics, the sounds and the unique aspects of an MMO-type experience in a baseball environment, not to mention the fact that it is free-to-play, are all great aspects of the game. Those factors alone easily allow me to recommend MLB Dugout Heroes to baseball fans of all ages.
My thanks to David Chang and the rest of the Games Campus team who had come to Scottsdale for taking the time to allow me to demo the game and learn more about MLB Dugout Heroes. Unfortunately, the real Giants team lost in a close game to the Milwaukee Brewers, but the MLB Dugout Heroes’ seats on the first base side cold not have been any better. Many thanks for the invite!
