David Brevik to Head Development Team for Marvel Universe and Speak at Comic-Con

Buisnesswire.com is reporting that Gazillion Entertainment has recruited the former President of Blizzard North and Diablo creator David Brevik to lead the development of their upcoming Marvel Universe MMO. Formerly, Cryptic Studios had been set to develop the game, but after a breakdown in negotiations, Gazillion picked up the deal to develop the game and David Brevik will head the team. Patrons of San Diego Comic-Con will be able to see David answer questions on a Q&A Panel on July 23 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. along with several other developers.

At the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, David will participate on a panel Q&A entitled The State of MMOs: A Discussion with the Developer with other acclaimed game designers, including Craig Alexander (Turbine), Gordon Walton (BioWare), and Bob Ferrari (Sanrio Digital) on Thursday, July 23rd from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Former Cryptic Boss Tapped as New Gazillion Entertainment CEO

Last week we reported that Jack Emmert was appointed to the role of Cryptic CEO after John Needham departed the company to pursue other opportunities in the gaming industry. This week we know what those opportunities are. In a press release made earlier this morning, Gazillion Entertainment announced that John Needham has been named as the company's new CEO.

Previous to the position, Needham was CEO for Cryptic Studios and also held a position as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Operations for Sony Online Entertainment prior to that. Check out the official press release after the break.
