Former
Boston Red-Sox pitching great, MMO player extraordinaire
and founder of 38 Studios, Curt Schilling has been rumored to be a
candidate
for the recently vacated Massachusetts senate seat. According
to his own href="http://38pitches.weei.com/">blog site,
it’s something he may be
considering.

Here
is an excerpt from his latest post:

class="MsoQuote">As I have stated, while
it’s an incredible honor to have
people think I should, and would, be worthy, the hurdles to running for
the
vacated Senate seat are immense. Then I read something like this, and I
pause.

class="MsoQuote">When did health and the well-being
of United States citizens
become
a “Strategic Decision”? How the hell did we let
people into office who
look at us in that way? Aren’t they style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-style: normal;"> style="font-style: italic;">SUPPOSED
to
work for us?

class="MsoQuote">This line really just hammers home
what the people we have
elected think of us…

class="MsoQuote"> style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-style: normal;">“ style="font-style: italic;">When you
have (lawmakers) go back (home) and listen and see what the
reactions are
and also have an election coming up…I think they get a
little cold feet.”

class="MsoQuote">What? Really? You mean when
lawmakers face their constituents
— you, me, us, the people — and we voice a
dissenting opinion or outrage at
legislation style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-style: normal;">
we

they

home” BEFORE you face the
people, that way there’s nothing that can be done about it?
Nice.

What
do you think? Is Curt the type of person you would vote
for? A gamer in office would be an interesting addition for sure.
