Earlier today G4TV.com reported that a rumor that Microsoft was interested in buying EA (Electronic Arts). Amidst the rumor, EA's stock rose by 5% today. However, G4TV recently got a response from Microsoft's David Dennis debunking the rumor. Had this been true, EA's possible aquisition by Microsoft could have impacted the MMOG world in a number of ways given Microsoft's notorious track record with MMOGs.
"There's no truth to the speculation" said David Dennis, a Microsoft spokesman, "We have no plans to purchase EA."
