Posted October 23rd, 2009 by Martuk

Check your SWTOR beta registration to be sure it worked.

If you've signed up for the Star Wars: The Old Republic testing, you better check again to be sure. A recent error discovered by BioWare indicates that those using 64-Windows platforms or 64-bit Internet Explorer may have actually failed the application hardware scan even though it was indicated as successful. AmyCrider posted the news on the SWTOR forums and urged the community to use the 32-bit versions of Internet Explorer when signing up to avoid the error.

Hi all,

We've recently encountered an error with the Star Wars: The Old Republic Game Testing sign up page and users of the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer on Windows 64-bit platforms. When using Internet Explorer 64-bit, the system scanning program will either fail, or it will appear to have completed properly and submit your data, but it will actually fail to scan your system or submit your specifications to BioWare.

For this reason, we are encouraging users to either use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer when signing up for the STAR WARS: The Old Republic testing process, or to switch to another supported browser. If you're on a Windows 64-bit system, you can identify the version of Internet Explorer you are using by bringing up the Task Manager and selecting the Processes tab. Then find iexplore.exe. If you are using the 32-bit version, it will say iexplore.exe *32. If you are using the 64-bit version, it will say iexplore.exe.

To switch to the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer, simply choose the program listed as Internet Explorer (not Internet Explorer 64-bit) program from your Start Menu.

We are in the process of getting more information about this issue in order to find a resolution. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I use Firefox. How does this affect me?

I have problems with it too.
Everytime i put my telephone number in "Detailed Information" form page just refresh and i cant finish signing up for beta (have it for more than week, but bioware not writing back after i told them about it)

If you include the country code try not doing that.

when i put tel. number for ex. 5288085 it change to (528) 808 - 5 and after click continue just see the same page again and again...

Then try area code 5288085. It might then show as (XXX) 528-8085.
