SOE Previews The Hole in EverQuest 2: Sentinel's Fate

Sony Online Entertainment has released a new preview segment for EverQuest 2: Sentinel's Fate. This time the crew previews a classic area from Odus and one many old school EverQuest players will remember as there are many fond and terrifying memories about the zone in question. What is this place you ask? It's none other than The Hole, an infamous name known by many old school EverQuest players. Countless corpses and items were lost in the original incarnation of this fierce zone, but it was fun to explore with friends, even if the threat of losing all of your items to a bad run was there.

The new version of The Hole will be more forgiving than its older day counterpart as you won't be losing all of your items to a lost corpse, but the introduction to this zone to EverQuest 2 will be a welcome addition to many players who will undoubtedly remember it from their old EverQuest stomping days. Brett "Timetravelling" Scheinert and Carlos "Gninja" Mora field a few questions about the zone to give players a look at what The Hole will be like in the new Norrath.

This is a big, big, BIG contested dungeon. A few of our goals in its creation were to:  avoid placeholders (there are none), include lots of interesting little events, give players a lot to do (nearly 30 bosses, over 80 quests…), and to not make it too difficult (should be 2-4 person groupable).
