Dr. Eyjolfur Gudmundsson is CCP's lead economist. Ten Ton Hammer caught up with him at the 2010 Game Developers Conference, where he was on-hand to deliver a great talk about CCP's initiative to rid EVE Online of illicit currency, item, and account sellers.

Gudmundsson: Absolutely. That's one of the core design features of EVE, that it's a player-driven economy. We are just the janitors for the game world. We create the tool chest, clean it up, and try to make it as fun as possible. In terms of content and having an immersive experience, we put that into the hands of the players.
