Earlier this week Ten Ton Hammer brought you two exclusive video interviews from PAX East 2010 for upcoming All Points Bulletin featuring the game’s robust customization options and a brief gameplay overview. However, throughout the weekend we also spent a fair amount of time playing the game at the various demo stations set up at the APB booth. In our hands-on impressions, we’ll give you the skinny on what APB is like from the player’s perspective, some more detail on how advancement works and let you know our overall thoughts on the biggest question of them all when it comes to a new MMOG: is it fun?
Thankfully the combat in APB makes up for the overall lack of meaningful mission objectives. If you're a fan of third person shooters, then the game provides plenty of dynamic PvP gameplay which, paired with the various item unlocks available, gives APB a much stronger metagame than had Realtime Worlds opted to go the route of instanced maps like capture the flag or what have you.
