Battle.net is expanding its reach to include Facebook. In a recent announcement, Blizzard Entertainment explained its plans to expand the popular online gaming service by integrating it with the popular social networking site. The first step in the expansion will involve Blizzard's upcoming RTS sequel, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, allowing players to quickly add Facebook friends who are Blizzard gamers to their Battle.net friends list. The new features will be tested soon during the StarCraft II beta test and will be available for gamers when StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty ships later this year. Other Facebook and Battle.net options will be announced at a later date.
