LucasArts President Darrell Rodriguez has resigned from the company after filling the role for just two years. The news was confirmed to Kotaku recently along with the announcement that several of his executive team departed with him. Filling in the position vacated by Rodriguez until a permanent replacement is found is Jerry Bowerman, one of the Board of Directors for Lucasfilm. The reasons for the departure of Rodriguez and some of his team remain a mystery.

Rodriguez forged a strong working relationship with BioWare for the development of Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR). It's unclear at this moment if the current events will have any impact on the development of SWTOR, so stay tuned as we monitor the story and bring you any new details.
