The summer doldrums have arrived for many in the world of
subscription-based MMOGs and you may have already noticed a drop in the
population of your favorite virtual world. With nicer weather,
graduation ceremonies, summer vacations and looming expansions, it may
be harder to find a group or a raid to help fend off the boredom. A
nice free-to-play title would be just what the doctor ordered to beat
the summer time blues, but which one is right for you? Fear not, Ten
Ton Hammers Jason “Medawky” Bolton has the answer. He recaps some of
the games we have recently reviewed in this week’s Microcosms.

into our sun baked rear view mirrors, the official start of the summer
season is upon us. While most Americans spend the other 9 months of the
year dreaming of fun in the sun, a great number of MMOG players
approach this time of year with a quiet sense of dread. You see,
summertime is when a large portion of a server’s population
mysteriously vanishes in a puff of smoke that smells of BBQ and suntan
lotion, leaving the rest of us with little to do, since so many of our
activities are dependant upon having other players to do them with.
