Ten Ton Hammer - Taking MMO Gamers to the Next Level!

The summer will bring changes to Champions Online (CO) and Cryptic has laid out its plans for the first iteration of CO's next update tentatively scheduled for an August 17th release in their July "State of the Game." The first version of the update is planned to deploy on PTS this Friday or early next week and will include a number of new features for Supergroups, Pet Powers, new emotes, the CStore 2.0, and much more.

The "State of the Game" also looks a little further ahead into September when Cryptic plans to launch the next adventure pack for CO with The Demonflame, which contains a basic back plot from the Champions pen and paper game.

Nearly 20 years ago, Luther Black used the full power of the DEMON organization that he'd built to cause the Demonflame Incident. Through vile magic and human sacrifice he created a flaming tower that rose into the sky, and at its peak he tried a horrific ritual to let him pry open the doors between worlds and take on unnatural powers. He was stopped by the combined forces of brave superheroes and, to everyone's surprise, VIPER. No one knows why VIPER lent their aid, but VIPER and DEMON have been fighting each other ever since. Luther Black's plan was foiled, and the tower disappeared.
