Adult Entertainment company Playboy has announced a new partnership with Bigpoint for the release of the upcoming free-to-play MMOG, Poisonville. Poisonville is an action-oriented MMOG involving a fictional U.S. city where crime and corruption rule the streets. Players must complete missions to counteract the corruption and gain respect.

Playboy, who is looking to develop and distribute a gaming label by the end of this year, and as part of its deal with Bigpoint, will help create and distribute titles through its site, starting with the browser based MMOG, Poisonville.

What Playboy's title will be has yet to be announced, but the backing has been described as "significant" and it will have a target audience of 18-35 year old.

"We’re looking for quality developers and the time I spent looking at Bigpoint showed me that they fit the bill for what we needed to get started," said Lee. "Previously, Playboy’s gaming interests included a few licensing deals and some editorial in the form of gaming reviews. But there was no clear, over-arching strategy in place. With Bigpoint, we’ve established a clear path in terms of where we want to go."
