Star Trek Online certainly had more than a few issues at launch. With buggy away team missions, PvP balance issues and the rather hastily added Klingon faction, which felt like it was kind of haphazardly slapped into the game, there were certainly no shortage of things to complain about. But Cryptic Studios has been working to improve the game and add new content for players to enjoy and to give credit where credit is due, they have been adding some great new features to the game and in the latest "State of the Game" it seems that the developer has no intention of letting up on their efforts to improve the game by listening to player feedback.

The new Featured Episodes are just one thing that's been added, but Cryptic is also re-thinking how the C-Store works by working on new ways for players to earn items sold in the store from within the game.

It also helps to show that our business is not just about putting items in the C-Store. Yes, micro-transactions help provide us with resources to make more content, but ultimately we want you to see that your continued support of this game is reflected in the regular updates you receive. That is also why you’ve seen some differences in our attitudes toward items in the C-Store. I’m happy to say that we have been evaluating your feedback and looking at our internal resources and finding ways to ensure that coveted items such as ships can be be obtained in game as well as via micro-transaction. The Nebula Class ships, for instance, which will release soon, will be available in-game as well as via the C-Store. I’m hopeful that we can continue this trend back toward multiple ways to earn these cool, specific items.

Cryptic plans to continue their weekly episode content and the "State of the Game" even addressed a few issues about the Klingons and how future factions for the game will be handled using some of the lessons learned from launch.
