With the plans for the European launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm released this morning, it was only a matter of time before Blizzard’s plans for the rest of the world followed.

The company updated their site with launch events in the US, Canada and Taiwan. This includes a midnight opening at Fry’s Electronics in Fountain Valley, California, at EBGames/GameStop in Toronto and Red House in Taipei City. Various members of Blizzard will be attending each event, notably COO Paul Sams who will be attending the launch in Taiwan.

I’m actually surprised, I was expecting more US-based events, particularly in New York or Los Angeles. That said though, doubtless hundreds of retailers across the country will be opening for the midnight launch but expect crowds if you’re heading out to pick up your copy at any of the locations mentioned!
