It’s sometimes a challenge for developers to make encounters more complex but at the same time keep them accessible and familiar to players. For Diablo III, it’s a challenge that Blizzard intends to meet head on. In a recent post to the Diablo III website, Blizzard details its plans for evolving the encounters in Diablo III . By implementing things such as the internally named “Big Hit”, specific signs relating to certain big attacks just before an enemy strikes, players can try to avoid those attacks, a familiar method to any MMOG dungeon runners and raiders. But this isn’t always simple as multiple foes and movement impairing effects can limit your ability to get out of the way of one of these big attacks.

But there’s a lot more to encounters in Diablo III than simply the “Big Hit.” Frenzied mobs also make a return as well as several other threats and challenges. Check out the full “Encounters” feature on the Diablo III website for all the details.
