Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating its 20th anniversary. What began as a small venture between three UCLA graduates in the early 1990s, has grown into the mammoth chieftain of the MMORPG side of the industry. Blizzard is well-known for their earlier games like the Diablo, StarCraft and Warcraft series, but their popularity exploded even further with the launch of their MMORPG, World of Warcraft.

While Blizzard certainly wasn't the first to venture into the MMORPG realm, they have become the most successfully recognized subscription-based game developer in the MMORPG field. By helping to expand the number of players for the genre, they have ensured that many new MMOGs have gotten the chance to be made that might have otherwise remained little more than a game document or simple idea. So for that, all of us MMOG enthusiasts owe them thanks.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary, Blizzard has launched a new mini-site that features a video message from CEO/Co-Founder Mike Morhaime and EVP Product Development/Co-Founder Frank Pearce, thanking fans for their support throughout the years. The site also has more content that will be added later, including interviews, a photo gallery, Blizzard's Timeline and more.

We would like to wish Blizzard a Happy 20th Anniversary.
