DC Universe Online MMO News, Guides, and Features at Ten Ton Hammer

DC Universe Online (DCUO) is headed into its third month of operation and Wes Yanagi has posted a new "Letter from the Producer" to update fans on where the game is and where it's going. With Update 2 deployed to US PS3 and PC players today, there's a lot of new content and changes to play around with, but SOE isn't slowing down their efforts to keep making the game more enjoyable.

One of the more requested aspects players have been asking for in the game has been communication and social improvements. The team has been spending a good deal of time making some adjustments and adding new features to help enhance the social experience of DCUO.

A lot of you have asked for communication/social improvements, so we spent a good chunk of time working on these issues.  The social UI has been revamped to be more usable, and we've added functionality like 'vote to kick' and 'vote to re-queue' to instances.  Proximity chat, which was previewed in an earlier patch, has full functionality and is fully enabled.  We've also added custom voice and text channels.

As for content, Batcave 3 is now live and Two-Face and Penguin are waddling around somewhere waiting to be smacked around. Just be advised that the devs have a few planned special appearances for update 3.
