Basics

Valor
Points are one of the two brand new dungeon and raid currencies
introduced in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Valor Points are considered
to be the new upper-level PvE currency, with
Justice
Points
being the new lower-level currency. Players can gain no more than 1250
Valor Points per week.
Sources
Unlike
Justice
Points, Valor Points can only be
obtained by completing
Cataclysm raid instances such as Baradin Hold and Blackwing Descent.
Valor Points will also be awarded for completing the Cataclysm daily
Heroic dungeon run. Because of the limited places Valor Points can be
obtained reaching the 1250 weekly cap can be a difficult task.
As of Patch 4.1.0 Valor Points are rewarded as such for each of the
above mentioned tasks:

Rewards
Once you have collected some Valor Points it is likely that you will
want to spend them. Valor Points can be spent at a variety of vendors
known as “Valorous Quartermasters”. These special
Quartermasters can be found in the following locations:

| Alliance |
Faldren
Tillsdale |

Center, Stormwind City |
| Horde |
Jamus’Vaz |
Grommash
Hold, Orgrimmar |
Once at these vendors players will be able to choose from a slew of
Item Level 359 Epic ger, which costs around 700-2200 Valor Points
depending on what item slot the reward will fill. Items purchased can
be later upgraded to the Heroic versions by obtaining an Essence of the
Forlorn and converting it at the above listed Valorous Quartermasters.
Two examples of the rewards currently purchasable in Patch 4.1.0 with
Valor Points can be found below:
