SOE boss John Smedley recently dropped in for an interview with Bloomberg to talk about SOE’s free-to-play strategy and the upcoming PlayStation 4 launch for DC Universe Online and PlanetSide 2. While DC Universe Online will be available at the PlayStation 4’s launch on November 15th, it looks like PlanetSide 2 won’t be available until early 2014 according to Smedley in a recent Bloomberg interview.

"We're helping the Sony PlayStation 4 launch on November 15 by releasing DC Universe Online at launch, and we're following up that early next year with our next game, Planetside 2, on PS4," Smedley told Bloomberg.

Originally both titles were expected to release for the PlayStation 4 this year, but it looks as though PlanetSide 2 will be a little late to the party.

Smedley also took some time to talk about the growing free-to-play market and the expansion of online gaming, pointing to the recent success of the League of Legends World Championship Finals, which managed to sell out the Staple Center in Los Angeles earlier this month.
