Welcome to the 59th edition of Reloading…

Everyone needs a feel good moment to start the day. Let’s go with this…

Day Two is upon us! Before i get into the goodies of yesterday and highlight what we're going to see, let me tell you that I got very little sleep last night. Night one here at the hotel was awkward enough. The proximity of our beds is just something we're not accustomed to. However this morning I realized things could be worse. Sure, there's some discomfort in our North-American-Grown genes when two straight dudes are put in a position of sleeping in close proximity. But that mild uneasiness turned to sheer horror last night when I awoke to see a tripod and camera at the side of my bed, staring down at me. Jeff laughed at what he called a coincidence in positioning. I'll be sleeping with one eye open tonight in either case. If I see myself on YouTube today, I'm flying home early.

Anyway, on to the good stuff. Yesterday the big news was, of course, the announcement of Carbine Studio's new upcoming MMOG, WildStar. It's not often you get to try some hands-on with a game the same day it's announced, but that's exactly what happened. The game play seems a little standard, but there are indeed some interesting concepts behind the game. Emphasis was put on wanting to allow gamers to play how they want to play. As such, several options are open to you as to how you want to play the game. Of particular interest to me was the Explorer, whose main function is to explore the game universe and find cool and interesting things to see and do. We have more time with WildStar today so expect more on it very soon.

We got more hands-on with TERA a little later. This game is always such a joy to play. I've run through game play sessions in the game maybe 3 or 4 times over the past year or so and each time I thoroughly enjoy it. Up until yesterday though, I've only ever played the melee classes. With TERA's action combat system it only seemed logical that playing a melee would highlight that combat more than casters. However, yesterday I tried out a Sorceror for the first time, and I'm happy to say it was just as much fun as the melee classes I've played. I can't wait to try this one with friends.

We finished off the day at EA where Funcom was presenting The Secret World. We saw some stuff we had never seen before and got a really great interview with Game Director Ragnar Tornquist. Keep an eye out for that one; there's some info in there you won't want to miss.

That was only some of the highlights of the day so be sure to check out our full coverage as we get it posted on our gamescom 2011 page.

Today we're off to see more of WildStar, APB Reloaded, Transformers Universe and much more. So stay tuned!

Talk soon,
