Welcome back to the 67th edition of Reloading...!
Please remain seated. If you look to your left you can see the SWTOR beta test on the horizon. Driver, turn this bus around!
I’m John Hoskin and I’ll be your MMOG tour guide today. Enjoy the ride!
“I have you now!” – Darth Vader
Everyone can use a feel good moment to start the day. Let’s go with this…

Thanks for taking some time out of your day to read this column. I truly appreciate it. If you happen to use Twitter, you can follow me @BoomjackTTH. I rarely use Facebook, but I do occasionally post gaming related tidbits on Google+ where you can find me under my real moniker John Hoskin.
We have a glut of content from Gamescon and PAX still rolling out the pipe. Though not a MMOG, the Mass Effect franchise is one that most of us have played.
Ben had a chance to ask some questions to Michael Gamble, Associate Producer on the title. You can see what Michael has planned in the aptly named
Mass Evolution.
Reuben enjoyed some
hands-on time with Guild Wars 2 at the recent PAX expo.
“The character design in Guild Wars 2 is some of the best I’ve seen in the Industry and, like many hardcore fans, I’ve been itching to see what kind of appearance options we’ll have the chance to tweak in the live game. While the current customization system isn’t yet complete, it did offer enough options to get a feel for how much depth it will offer for each of the five playable races.”
When you are the 800 pound gorilla in the room, even a broken toenail is important, such is the hype that there will be
Darkmoon Faire revamp in WoW Patch 4.3. You can kill Deathwing and see a new Darkmoon Faire. It’s seems to be odd timing, but knowing Blizzard, something is in the works that will cause it to all make sense.
Ben also tricked Jeremy Gaffney, Executive Producer on
Wildstar to talk a little more about their surprising title. I didn’t know that 20ish of the original WoW developers were part of this team. That said, the art direction is certainly in that direction.
In other news… AdventureQuest Worlds (what marketing group came up with that name?) will be delivering ads to their players when whey die. What better way to punish you for dying could there be?
Many Star Wars Galaxies fans are distressed about the imminent closing of their favourite game, but they will be able to determine how
the game ends.
“At at time and date yet to be announced, but prior to December 15
th, all Galactic Civil War points will be tallied by server. The side with the highest score will win the game and the galaxy, for each server, as well as change the way the game will end and what happens in the final moments. Celebrations will be in order for those who win and, for the losers, let’s just say they’ll be going out with a bang.”
That’s it for today. Thanks again for reading. See you in-game!
