    Death Rifts originate from the Plane of Death and is home to Regulos the Destroyer, most powerful of the six ancient Dragon Gods. It is through Regulos’s power that the very spirits and bodies of the dead become reanimated and live on in a form of perpetual undeath. When a Death Rift opens the undead are only too eager to rush through into the land of the living to try to find new victims to join them in the Plane of Death.

    When a Rift opens from the Plane of Death you will be able to tell as everything around it starts to wither and die and the power of Death pours into Telara. Overhear you will see dark tentacles hanging in the air, seeming to reach out trying to destroy everything around them. The ground will be black and desolate as all life dies around the rift. Obsidian organic-like spires erupt from the ground to mark Death’s prominence in the area.

    Fire Rifts originate from the Plane of Fire, which is home to Maelforge. One of the six ancient Dragon Gods known as the Blood Storm. Maelforge embodies the power of flame and destruction which he uses to spread pure chaos, for the pure self serving joy of it. Maelfore seeks to cause chaos and destruction on huge scales, but not to outright destroy Telara as Regulos wants to do. After all, what would he do for fun after?

    When a Rift opens from the Plane of Fire it can be seen from great distances as the sky weeps flames and the very land crackles to release molten rivers of magma. The area around a fire rift quickly becomes a wasteland, as the searing temperatures and dancing flames burn anything nearby.

    Rock Spire Earth Rifts originate from the elemental Plane of Earth, which is home to the golden dragoness Laethys. She is one of the six ancient Dragon Gods known as the Blood Storm. Laethys leads a cult of followers known as the Golden Maw, and together they seek to possess all the riches in the world.  Leathys is firmly set against Regulos since without the world she would have nothing to satisfy her lust for everything of wealth.

    Rifts that open from the Plane of Earth spread the great sandy and rocky desert of that realm into the world of Telara.  You can find great stone spires filled with gems and precious metals that erupt from the ground around a Rift when it opens.  The creatures from that desert realm then rush in to take over the area and capture anything of value for their queen.
