SMITE Launch Confirmed for March 25, 2014

March Madness goes MOBA. Hi-Rez Studios sets the official release date for SMITE and announces a new $100,000 launch tournament.

If you just can’t get enough of the title wave of MOBA, you’ll be happy to know that Hi-Rez Studios will officially launch their entry into the market next March with the release of SMITE. The god-focused battleground MOBA of SMITE will exit open beta and officially launch on March 25th, 2014 with a roster filled with mythological figures from multiple religions.

In addition to the official launch, Hi-Rez Studios will also be hosting a $100,000 LAN Tournament the following weekend. The tournament will be held on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia in front of a live audience and streamed live via Twitch. The tournament will feature the top four qualifying teams from both NA and EU from the SMITE Weekly Tournament Series beginning on January 4, 2014.

Currently in open beta, SMITE already boasts to have more than 2.5 million registered players. You can learn more about the upcoming tournament on SMITE’s eSports site.
