There are a lot of changes on the books for Star Trek Online. With the game scheduled to launch into the free-to-play market later this month, Executive Producer Stephen D'Angelo posted a new Path to F2P developer blog to clarify the testing process on Tribble server and assure fans that feedback is taken seriously and the changes to the game are being made to improve the experience for everyone.

Part of the testing aims to improve the Star Trek Online economy, but D'Angelo acknowledges that not all things that have been changed thus far seem to be an improvement. Luckily, there’s plenty of time for the devs to take feedback and adjust accordingly. And while it may seem like the changes are coming slow, the devs are working at a rather fast pace.

The challenge for us is that it takes a lot of effort to put up one build each week with major changes in it. The development and test cycles required to turn builds this quickly are keeping the whole team very busy. From our perspective, the team is running at a breakneck pace. From your perspective, however, the rate at which we are responding to your feedback may seem glacial. You see a problem perhaps hours after we put up a build, then you may wait days for the problem to be resolved.
