BioWare Announces Free Galactic Starfighter Expansion for SWTOR

BioWare reveals the second expansion to Star Wars: The Old Republic available to subscribers this December.

BioWare has finally revealed more about the super secret space program that they’ve been working on for Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) and it looks like it’s coming this December with the MMORPG’s second expansion – Galactic Starfighter. The new expansion expands the Galactic War between the Empire and Republic by adding new space combat options with new 12v12 space battles, allowing players to for the first time engage in both multiplayer and PvP space combat in SWTOR as well as choose new ships.

Subscribers to SWTOR will have the chance to start playing during the expansion’s early access on December 3rd, 2013. Preferred status players can join in on January 13th followed by Free-to-Play players on February 4th. Players with an active subscription by November 1st will also gain a free Galactic Starfighter early Gunship, a custom Gunship paint job, new titles, and two pilot suits.

The new expansion will, surprisingly, be free to SWTOR players. In the meantime, check out the new Conflict Rising trailer and Galactic Starfighter expansion page to learn more about what’s available for each account type.
