BioWare Co-Founder Talks About the Daunting Work of SWTOR

Posted Fri, Aug 26, 2011 by Martuk

Speaking with Eurogamer last week at gamescom, BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk talked about the ongoing testing for Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) and the daunting challenge of having such a high profile MMORPG ready for launch.

Careful not to commit to a launch date, Zeschuek reaffirmed BioWar’s target launch window for the game as holiday 2011 and emphasized BioWare’s commitment to launch a solid and reliable game from day one. And anyone that's been around MMORPGs long enough knows that this could mean launching later than intended if BioWare deems it necessary as many other MMORPGs have done in the past.

SWTOR is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious MMORPG projects in the history of the genre and this fact isn’t lost on the BioWare team. Zeschuk even talks briefly about the daunting task of delivering such a high profile game, acknowledging that, "This game's launch is going to be one of the biggest launches ever in the history of gaming.”
