Daniel Erickson Confirms BioWare Departure

Posted Thu, Oct 04, 2012 by Martuk

The hits keep on coming for BioWare. After a round of layoffs earlier this year, the departure of former Executive Producer Rich Vogel and the retirement announcement from founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, Star Wars: The Old Republic Lead Designer/Creative Director Daniel Erickson this week also announced that he will also be leaving the studio. News of Erickson’s departure surfaced late yesterday via a reader tip to Massively pointing to Erickson's new Twitter account. Erickson today confirmed the news to Gamasutra.

I can confirm that I am parting ways with BioWare,” Erickson told Gamasutra. "After seven years learning from the best in the business I am again looking for ways to grow as a creative leader and an artist.”

I really don't understand racism in the real world. People are what people are, regardless of skin pigmentation or where their ancestors came from. There's really only one real-world race - the Human Race - and I loathe everyone equally.

The high-fantasy setting isn't the only thing that would make Game of Thrones a fantastic story-based MMO.

A horribly-abused system from gaming's past is all but eradicated from current titles.
