EA has named Matthew Bromberg as the new general manager of BioWare label according to a Venturebeat report, a position that has been vacant since the departure of studio founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk last year. Bromberg will assume responsibilities extending to BioWare’s Edmonton and Montreal offices, Victory Studio in L.A., Waystone Studio in Redwood, and also retaining leadership of BioWare Austin division. Jeff Hickman will take over as BioWare Austin general manager.

Bromberg formerly joined EA in 2012 and was previously the CEO of Major League Gaming. The move puts Bromberg in a position to oversee the major BioWare brands such as the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series’ as well as Star Wars: The Old Republic.
