Early access for Star Wars: The Old Republic’s (SWTOR) first expansion, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, kicked off earlier this week along with the 2.0: Scum and Villainy update. The pairing of Rise of the Hutt Cartel and the 2.0 update brought plenty of new content to players that decided to buy the expansion.

In a pair of new dev blogs, BioWare discussed two of the newest elements available to SWTOR players with the new macrobinoculars, a new and familiar item to fans of the Star Wars movies that will allow players to scan and analyze objects from a safe distance, and the Seeker Droid, a new system that allows players to dig at various sites to search for treasures and quest objects. The Seeker Droid even comes with its own storyline that involve tracking down stolen sith artifacts that have been scattered around the galaxy.

You can check out the two blogs on the SWTOR website for all the details.
