World of Warcraft + Darkfall: Unholy Wars

  • Almost To Beta...

    MMORPGDot.com
got a glimpse of Aventurine's MMO Darkfall:

Darkfall is an interesting endeavor from Greek-based Aventurine, which brought
aboard the original Norwegian developers, Razorwax. Currently approaching
beta, it takes place in a world called Agon that will offer six diverse playable
races aligned in three groups. Humans, Dwarves and the elven Mirdain make
up one. Orks and the Mahirim wolf-men comprise another, while the Alfar are
    friendless pariahs.

Why is it that Elves, Humans and Dwarves are always in the same Alliance? If
it was me, I would choose Orks to be on my side. They are crazy mean!

  • WoW: The Burning Crusade At CVG
Are they on fire or something?
    CVG
got a chance to drill the mind of Shane Dabiri about the upcoming expansion
    for World of Warcraft.
Who is Shane Dabiri? Find out:

What are you currently working on at the moment in the expansion?
Shane Dabiri: As lead producer on the World of Warcraft team, I'm currently
undertaking the exciting task of dividing and focusing our resources on the
development of both the expansion set and on the continuing content development
for the current game. This should help us streamline our efforts for 2006.
What percentage of the content is geared toward players of all levels, and
what percentage to only level 60 (and above with the level cap increase) characters?
Shane Dabiri: As is traditional with MMO expansions, a large portion of the
content will be geared toward characters in the range between the current
maximum and new maximum levels, starting at around level 55. However, we do
also plan to add content to better tie in the new races to the world, so players
who choose to start as one of the new races will experience a great deal of
new content up to about level 20.

  • Paying $15 a month not to play a game.
TGDaily has chatted with a World of Warcraft bot programmer. You too, can pay not to play a game.

" Mercury told us that the primary purpose of WoWglider is to allow busy people to "level up" their characters. When he first started playing WoW, Mercury felt left behind because his friends were already at level 60 and he had little time to catch up. "I also wanted to get to 60 to come along on the instance runs, but I had no time to grind it out between work and social life." Many areas of the game are only available to higher level characters, so Mercury wrote WoWglider to accelerate his game. "

  • Something Need Doing?
Sci-Fi novelist Keith R.A. DeCandido (Star Trek, Andromeda) is bringing a little
more than upgrades to Warcraft players. He is writing a series of novels devoted
to the World of Warcraft series. The first book will be called "World of
Warcraft: Cycle of Hatred." A very fitting title given the books contents:

The Burning Legion has been defeated, and eastern regions of Kalimdor
are now shared by two nations: the orcs of Durotar, led by their noble Warchief,
Thrall; and the humans of Theramore, led by one of the most powerful mages alive
-- Lady Jaina Proudmoore. But the tentative peace between orcs and humans is
suddenly crumbling. Random attacks against Durotar's holdings suggest that the
humans have renewed their aggression toward the orcs. Now Jaina and Thrall must
avert disaster before old hatreds are rekindled -- and Kalimdor is plunged into
another devastating war. Jaina's search to uncover the truth behind the attacks
leads her to a shocking revelation. Her encounter with a legendary, long-lost
