Age of Conan: Unchained + World of Warcraft + Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Features

  • Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Updated Hands-On - Bright Wizards, Magi, and More Player Versus Player

Gamespot has a new preview of Warhammer Online on their site.

In the early beta version of the game we played, the humans begin their lives in what appears to be a run-down village, the kind you'd see in medieval Europe, including patrolling pikemen in armor, peasants hiding in their hovels, and half of the village on fire. All starting areas will be under siege, and your character's nation will sit right next to your enemies'--so as a new human bright wizard, we found ourselves under attack by the forces of chaos immediately.

  • Interview at Onlinewelten

Time to brush off your German (or cheat and click for the english version!). Onlinewelten has posted an interview with Product Manager Erling Ellingsen.

"Cheating is always a tough theme. What is your strategy against cheaters?

We have a zero tolerance towards cheaters. In the past, with our other MMO Anarchy Online, we’ve struck down on them harshly. People who break such rules will be banned. On the other side, our developers are working hard on creating systems that will minimize the possibilities of cheating. We’re being proactive about this, trying to beat the cheaters to it."

  • Warhammer Online Update

WarCry.com posted this interview with Assistant Producer Josh Drescher. Don't miss out on a thing, keep reading to see what they were able to learn.

WarCry Network:: Each race you chose for Warhammer (Dark Elves, High Elves, Greenskins, Dwarfs, Empire and Chaos) carries a distinct flavor. What types of players do you think each one will appeal to?

Josh Drescher: Smart, savvy folks who like having a great time.

Honestly, I think it's impossible to guess what will attract certain players to certain races or careers. I, personally, have hated elves in every other game I've ever played, but I'll be rolling a Dark Elf on launch day because I just love the crazy Lord Byron-in-and-evil-opium-den vibe. And they look really cool. And... well, you'll have to wait a bit longer to see what we're doing with their careers, but I think people will be very excited.

  • Games Workshop Interview - Part 2

Warhammer Alliance has posted part II of thier interview with Erik Mogensen of Games Workshop.

If it's Warhammer and it's on anything other than paper or a tabletop, odds are Erik Mogensen of Games Workshop is involved with it. Erik is the Licensing Manager for Games Workshop, a title that really does little justice for just how involved he is. Early last year Erik gave us a great interview in which he laid out just how involved Games Workshop was in the development of Warhammer Online. This time Erik spends a little more time and updates with what is new in his neck of the woods. Thanks for the update Erik..

  • New Levels of Escapism in Pvp?

Stratics takes a look at the upcoming Age of Conan and shares their thoughts with us.

My favorite idea of their pvp’ing is drunken brawling. I’m really looking forward to getting sloshed and throwing some punches at random people. This type of pvp brings a new level of escapism that I’m personally looking forward to.

    Head over and keep reading.

  • Class Preview - Scion of Set

The official site for Age of Conan has been updated with the first in a series of looks at the classes that will be found in this upcoming game.

This week we start taking a look at some of the classes in Age of Conan in a little more detail. First up for this weeks update we travel to the desert lands of Stygia to find out more about the Scion of Set from the Priest Archetype.

Dedicated to the god Set, the Scions are often considered fanatics whose dedication to their god reaches devotion that many would confuse for insanity. The snake god offers the constant promise of power beyond mortal means and demands nothing short of total commitment in return.

  • Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - CES Preview Based on interviews with Erling Ellingsen (Product Manager) and Jorgen Tharaldsen (Product Director)

WarCry Posted this CES interview and preview of Age of Conan. Don't miss a thing!

We started in character creation and we found ourselves on a slave ship selecting between the Stygian, the Aquilonian and the Cimmerian. Escaping slavery, you are making your way in this brutal, backward world. There is one word I can say about the level of physical character customization possible in Age of Conan, and that is "astounding!" Over 30 different aspects of physical attributes that you can adjust await the eager fans. For example, just for the cheeks alone, you can adjust the length, the width, the height and the depth.

The same goes for the body. You can create an anorexic woman with huge (and I mean huge!) ta-tas, a man with the physique of Arnie or Pee-Wee Herman as you wish, and as usual, there's the wonderful one-click randomizer. One thing you cannot do is to give your character a pot-belly. Ahem... you are an escaped galley slave after all. But, onto the game and its unique features!

  • Burning Crusade Interview

Pro-G has posted an interview Jonathan LeCraft. Keep reading to see what they were able to learn about the Burning Crusades.

It's been a momentous week for US developer Blizzard. On Monday the studio announced it had surpassed the eight million subscription mark for its insanely popular MMO World of Warcraft in an attempt to drum up interest in the release of what is probably the biggest game expansion ever: The Burning Crusade.

And now, after thousands queued long into the cold winter night to get their mitts on the game at midnight openings across the world, millions of Warcraft players are enjoying the new continent of Outland and embarking on the long journey to level 70.

  • Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, CES Preview

MMORPG.com's Carolyn Koh had a chance to get some hands on time with this upcoming title. Take a look at her impressions ing this preview.

Funcom was represented at CES2007 this year in the Games for Windows area in the Las Vegas Convention Center. I don’t usually brave the “zoo” but did so this year for the sake of MMORPG.com readers.

Despite Windows Vista blue screens of deaths with both computers, we managed to see a little of the newbie experience on Age of Conan. Due to launch in summer 2007, Age of Conan:Hyborian Adventures is three years in the making, and currently in the Friends and Family stage of closed beta.

  • Blizzard's Jon LeCraft and Itzik Ben Bassat talk WoW, expansions, console MMORPGs and what's in store next.

IGN has posted an interview with Jon LeCraft and Itzik Ben Bassat. Keep reading to see what they were able to learn.

Tucked away in a hotel basement, somewhere deep in Central London, we probed Itzik Ben Bassat, Blizzard's vice president of business development, and The Burning Crusade game designer Jon LeCraft on the success of WoW so far, the challenges of catering to a massively diverse user base, plus the compatibility of consoles and MMORPGs. Of course, we also tried to eke out what's in store for both Blizzard and World of Warcraft. Eyes down for more.
