  • Yaktastic

This is the second in a series of guides to the important outposts in Guild Wars. Prepare for your visit to Yak's Bend by reading our description of the town and what you'll find there.

Yak's Bend is named for the creatures who are as ubiquitous to the area as gamers in an internet café. (Feel free to pet the yaks. They're used to it.) Snowy, but mild, this is a place to prepare yourself for the trip through the Shiverpeak Mountains.

  • The Prophesy According to Zed

Turbine is nice enough to provide a list of Level 3 cleric spells in their Compendium. What the Compendium doesn't tell us is which of those spells are useful and which are tavern tricks. The only way to know that information is to play a cleric in Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach (DDO). Or you could just read Zed's guide! Zed is our Cleric Class Specialist and he knows his stuff:

    Blindness
    Cool down (seconds): 6
    Casting Time: short
    School: Necromancy
    Range: Medium
    Area: Single target
    Components: verbal
    Duration: Permanent
    Save: Yes, negates
    Target: Foe
Notes: "The power of unlife renders an enemy blinded." The enemy is unable to see and swings around randomly. Excellent to reduce the abilities of a ‘Boss,’ especially a caster.

  • Feline Forts

Lion's Arch is one of the most popular locations in Guild Wars. In fact, the ArenaNet team likes it enough to use it for the occasional chit-chat with the community. Don't believe me? Wait till the frog talks.

This prime real estate is owned by the White Mantle. Stormy skies and wheeling seagulls help make this town one of the most visually interesting in the game.

  • Welcome to Ascalon!

First in a series of tourist guides to Guild Wars hot spots, Ascalon City is first major city you'll encounter. Our guide applies to the non-tutorial, post-Sear version. Here you can trade, buy rare items, craft armor, and form a guild.

Located in North Eastern Tyria, Ascalon City was once a prosperous and peaceful place. Since the Charr invasion, however, it's changed. The warm azure and green tones of the city have been replaced by a grim and angry red haze.

  • WoW Ahn'Qiraj loot quick reference now available

In World of Warcraft, Ahn'Qiraj describes two massive level 60 raid instances (one 20-man/woman/person, and one 40-man/woman/fanboi). There's a lot of loot to be had, and reputation requirements just add to the confusion. Luckily, WoW @ TenTonHammer now offers a detailed Ahn'Qiraj loot quick reference guide in PDF format!

Having recently started to run both sides of Ahn'Qiraj with several guilds, I came across the issue that many of us do. Who needs what loot items and at what reputation level to gain items? There are several sites out there that have either partial or full listings, however none of them are in an easy to print or view format that can be left on screen (if you are blessed with two monitors) or printed easily and left beside your computer for easy reference.

  • Shields at full!

The Auto Assault @ TenTonHammer team has updated the Human racial section with brand new information on the Human race! Humanity is strong, pure, and the epitome of genetic engineering. With their shielding technology, control of orbiting laser death ray satellite systems and mental powers they are truly a strong force to be reckoned with! (::goes back to playing with Auto Assault action figures::)

The back-story for humanity is short and sweet. The Contamination came and humanity attempted to control its effects. It started mutating some humans into "Mutants" while killing off others. These Mutants were much stronger then the average Human and also mutated those around them. To stop this "infection" from spreading, they quarantined the Mutants. The Mutants didn't take kindly to it, so they fought back. Since they were much stronger and humanity was already fighting a war against the spread of this contamination, they had no choice but to bring in alternative weapons.

Cruise down to Auto Assault - TenTonHammer and check out the updates!

  • Virtual supply and demand!

Looking for that special Auto Assault ride yet you can’t find it in the car shop? Mouse sheds some light on this cause of the mysterious disappearance of the popular chassis models. Virtual supply and demand at it’s finest!

Under the current in-game vendor system, the vendors only change what they have in stock when either something is purchased, or the servers are rebooted for what ever reason. While this may not seem like such a bad thing on the surface, let's dig a little deeper and see what turns up.

  • The9 stock continues to rise, despite possible Blizzard renegotiation

For you international trading speculators out there, World of Warcraft continues to see its name in lights. In Chinese e-commerce news, Yahoo! Singapore Finance is reporting continued strong gains in The9 stock despite Blizzard's talk of seeking a new WoW operator in China.

The9 Limited's stock is up around 90% in 2006 and continues to rise, based on the strong performance of its World of Warcraft, or WoW, online role-playing game. But investors will look for the company to dispel rumors that have WoW's developer, Vivendi Universal's (V) Blizzard Entertainment, considering a renegotiation of terms as the game's next expansion pack approaches release in late 2006.

Read the full article at Yahoo! Singapore Finance, and buy! No, wait, sell! Or, better yet, consult an investment specialist... we're just gamers!

  • If only the Mutants could get with Hulk...

The Auto Assault - TenTonHammer team has gone through and updated all of the information with facts from the live game. The page now provides a better focus on important information like hazard modes and racial bonuses!

Mutants were once human but were mutated by the contamination. They were held in camps and oppressed, until they began resisting. Then humanity began to retaliate against them, even sending mechanical soldiers to exterminate them. Mutant kind created the citadel, a giant structure away from humanity that would serve as the Mutants major city. Unable to take down the citadel, humanity retreated. Envious of their gift, the humans went underground and assaulted the surface world. Ever since, Mutant kind has been in constant conflict with the Biomeks and now reemerged Humans.

Take a ride down the wild side at our Mutant Racial Section at Auto Assault - TenTonHammer.

  • Getting Tricky

Guild Wars is a fairly forgiving game. It's hard to paint yourself into a corner. Leveling isn't much of a grind, you can change your subclass, and even when things go bad, it isn't difficult to get a do-over. However, especially if you're new to the game, you'd probably prefer to avoid as many "newbie" mistakes as you can.

If you care about unlocking all the skills in the game, chose your class combinations carefully. Don't waste time leveling up a Monk/Mesmer and then a Warrior/Monk, unless you really want to, or you're not keeping tabs on skill gathering.

To help you out, we've compiled a list of 20 Tips n' Tricks at Guild Wars - TenTonHammer.
