Formerly known as 2Moons in NA, Dekaron is a mature fantasy MMOG originally imported from Korea by Acclaim Games. After the arrogant King Rictus used the power of the two moons in alignment to open the gates of Abbadon and unleash the Pitborn upon Haran, he found himself unable to control the demons. Instead, the Pitborn imprisoned Haran and caused him to experience the torment of each death they caused for all eternity.

After a long period of horror, the prophet Trieste rose up to oppose the Pitborn, fighting a helpless battle against their superior numbers. Finally, she sacrificed herself to seal the gates of Abbadon and restore peace to Haran. Years after Trieste's death, her magical seal is weakening. It is up to the players to stop their world from being overrun with demons again.

After Acclaim Games ceased operations on August 26th, 2010, GameHi stepped in to assume control of 2Moons and began migrating accounts to the new Dekaron server.

  • "No mercy for the weak, no pity for the dying, no tears for the slain"

The Game Musketeers has posted an interview with 2Moons Producer, David Perry. This interview includes several great screenshots as well.

    1. Since you have console and strategy specialist can we expect a more "twitch reflex" based MMO or will this game still stick to the standard MMO conventions of leveling equaling more power?

I'm a big fan of action fighting and yes, I much prefer console style fighting (like God of War) to basic MMO fighting. That said, if the game has good spells and skills that need to be mixed in, then the MMO fighting can get dramatically more interesting. MMO fighting is the way it is for good reason and so programming convention dictates the way things will work. I've always been from the school of "There MUST be a way", much to the frustration of the programmers I work with. So my suggestions for radical changes are usually followed by "There MUST be a way?"

  • New 2Moons Screenshots - A First Look at Acclaim's M-Rated MMORPG

When 2Moons was announced two and a half months ago, Acclaim promised us a gritty, M-rated, adult-focused MMO with some capital talent (Korean and stateside) to help bring an eastern blockbuster to the west. Today, we see Acclaim's first steps toward that goal. Though the probable gorey particle effects will have to wait for a future build, these shots show a sleek, well-schooled user interface and some interesting character models. Have a look!

  • The man behind 2Moons to the West answers our questions about the game

MMORPG.com has had a chance to sit down with David Perry.

MMORPG.com: Give us a little background on 2Moons. How did the idea begin? What was Acclaim's motivation for an MMO?

David Perry: I'm just one of these people that want to fire up a game and have fun. If I'm required to know the back history of 5 clans, or watch 20 minutes of cinematics, or read a website before I can have fun, it just bugs me. So I've been toying with the idea of making an MMO that's easy to get into, easy to understand, possibly funny at points, but that makes you feel bad-ass. Not wanting to wait 3 years to find out how it went, I looked for games/engines that could be a match. The closest I could find was a game called Dekaron made by GameHi in Korea. So now I had to convince the creator of that game to let me make any changes (not small ones, big ones, like "Erm... Would you mind if we changed the entire story?") They agreed! So being on a roll I made a list of "difficult requests" and flew to Korea again to explain those in person. Again, they seem receptive and are working on those. The great news is that we are just a few months away from launch.

So I've teamed up with a publisher with no Baggage, in the form of Acclaim. Howard Marks (the CEO) was one of the guys that brought Activision back from Bankruptcy, and as you know it's massive today. He's now doing the same thing with the Acclaim brand. He's backing this concept 150% and so I say he's either crazy or a pioneer. Only time will tell, but you can be certain he'll have a lot of consumer fans that got to play his games for free.

  • David Perry talks about PvP, weapons, armor, the magic system and more in his first online world endeavor

RPG Vault brings us part 2 in their series of interviews with David Perry.

n this role, he's involved in 2Moons, the intriguing persistent state endeavor announced two weeks ago by publisher Acclaim. The initial press release served up some very interesting pieces of information. For instance, it stated that the game will be free, violent and aimed at adult players, with the focus being to become a high-level combatant in a world characterized by the tagline "No mercy for the weak, no pity for the dying, no tears for the slain." The way in which development is being handled also piqued our curiosity. Although based on GameHi's Dekaron, a massively multiplayer offering that has been a success in Korea, 2Moons is described as a "re-make" rather than a translated or even localized version. Naturally, we were immediately keen to know more, so we were very pleased for the chance to question David Perry.

Jonric: What would you like to tell us at this time about PvP in 2Moons, how it will function, and how you plan to address the issues that can be associated with it?

Keep reading to find out his answer to this question and more. Are you looking forward to playing 2Moons? Stop by the forums right here at Ten Ton Hammer and let us know why...or why not.

  • I see the 2Moons crossing...

CCR we ain't, but one developer is experiencing a revival all his own. Long known in the videogame industry, Dave Perry announced he's remaking a Korean MMO in his own image this week. If you haven't heard, it's going to be called 2Moons, a free fantasy MMO supported by advertising. Firing Squad asked Perry why he's venturing down this new path:

If I'm required to know the back history of 5 clans, or watch 20 minutes of cinematics, or read a website before I can have fun, it just bugs me. So I've been toying with the idea of making an MMO that's easy to get into, easy to understand, possibly funny at points, but that makes you feel bad-ass.
