  • Developer Q&A #2 - Chronicle 5: The Oath of Blood

The official site for Lineage II has put up the second developers Q & A. You can even get a look at some of the concept art on the drawing board!

Dashammer: Will the special ability Might Mortal ever be actually removed from all present daggers with the SA?

Lineage II Dev Team: Hello, Dashammer! The Mortal Strike (previously named Might Mortal) special ability made the dagger classes too strong and this change was made to balance this issue. But we are not planning to remove the existing daggers with the Mortal Strike special ability. We will leave them as is, rare items.

Head over and read the rest of the Q & A. Let us know what you think in the forums at Ten Ton Hammer.

  • Lineage II: Oath of Blood gets ready to expand the players’ experience

GameZone has posted a preview of the upcoming expansion to Lineage II, Oath of Blood. Do they think this will be a hit or a miss? Keep reading...

Since the launch of Lineage II in April of 2004, the game has seen a lot of changes, the evolution of the community and strong changes along the way.

Much of the criticism has been addressed. Players who have violated the EULA (end-user licensing agreement) have found that NCsoft has cracked down hard. In fact, as of the middle of September, approximately 50,000 accounts will have been banned for infractions. There are been four ‘chronicles’ or major updates to the game.

  • European Community Continues to Grow With Each New Lineage II Update

A press release was issued this morning that tells us about the expansion of service to the European Lineage II Community. Not only has it expanded, it has doubled!

Teon, the first server dedicated for European players, was recently moved to Frankfurt from the U.S as part of a larger overall plan to host Lineage II worlds in mainland Europe. By hosting servers in Europe, local players experience increased game performance, a better chance of building clans with same language players and more convenient timings of in-game community events, all of which are core elements to the Lineage II experience.

  • Three Castles and Four Clan Halls

A press release was issued this morning that highlights the addition of three new castles and four clan halls for Lineage II. Keep readinng to find out more...

In the chaotic world of Lineage II, clans and alliances vie for control of the land. Clan hall ownership and castle sieges are the pinnacle of the Player versus Player experience. Two new castles and a number of new clan halls have been added to the world in Chronicle 5: Oath of Blood.

The clan that controls a castle in the lands of Aden and Elmore has a direct influence on the politics and economy in the nearby area. The castle lords demand a tax from all of the residents in the territory, giving the castle-owning clan authority and control of the area. With so much at stake, every castle siege is an epic and thrilling conflict with the clan’s power up for the taking.

Read the full press release to see the full details of where these new properties are. Have you joined our community yet? Why not? It only takes a moment to register and then you can share your thoughts in the forums here at Ten Ton Hammer on this and all your favorite MMOs.

  • More Chronicles than Rush...

Adam Davidson tells Laura Genander of MMORPG.com about all the interesting things coming to Lineage II with the next large update, including the Demon Sword Zariche - a one-per-server weapon that can drop from any mob and remains with you until your killed or a timer expires. So will high level folks will gank low level mobs relentlessly to improve the chances of a drop? Probably, unless some mechanic discourages this behavior.

Chronicle 4 remains our largest Chronicle to date, but Chronicle 5 is right on its heels, perhaps in some ways bigger. Many of the facets focused on in Chronicle 5 are more systemic, such as the clan improvements and class balancing efforts. In this expansion we’ve revitalized multiple systems that both appeal to new players and enrich the experience of veterans. So that, plus new lands, new castles, new contestable clan halls, new monsters and all the other things players expect from a Lineage II Chronicle, means this one is pretty huge in impact. I really think this expansion will be great for the western markets.

Read on about Lineage II, Chronicle 5 at MMORPG.com.
