Sword of the New World + Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited

  • There's a Tavern in the Town

Where's the fluff in Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach? Well, it's practically non-existent. Shayalyn went in search of non-leveling content and found very little in DDO, so she chose to hang out in, write about taverns. Are taverns non-leveling content? Eh...maybe?

  • Explore DDO's Versatile Fighter

Ralsu of our DDO @ TenTonHammer community brings us a basic guide to the fighter in Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach. If combat is your thing, and you like to dish it out as well as you take it, then the versatile fighter may be the class for you.

Adventuring parties welcome fighters for their ability to withstand hits while providing solid damage. When the party’s scout bumps into a gargoyle around the corner or spiders besiege the cleric, it will be the fighter who rushes in to “clean house.” Players who choose to create a fighter will enjoy the ability to join any fracas and the specialization possible because of the numerous bonus feats fighters receive.

Which abilities, skills, feats and enhancements are important when creating a fighter? Read the fighter class guide at DDO - TenTonHammer to find out!

  • Warriors of Light: Cleric Tactics in DDO

Darkgolem offers up his guide to playing the cleric class in Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach (DDO) to its fullest advantage. Do you know when to hurt, and when to heal? Or when it's appropriate to use damage spells? Find out as DDO Ten Ton Hammer's resident power-gamer shares his secrets.

Don’t forget the benefits of using your shield in combat. A cleric out of spell points and support abilities can draw the attention of foes scattered from a melee by hitting them then backing off, raising his shield, and keeping them centered on himself until his melee friends can deal with them. You’d be surprised at how effecting the damage reduction of a raised shield can make you a defensive bulwark.

  • No need to patronize a creepy voodoo shop for your DDO spellbook...

Darkgolem brings us the second in his series of spell descriptions for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach. He breaks down the effects and benefits of each Level 2 spell for the caster's repertoire. Dargolem also provides us with extra knowledge gained from his extensive research:

Much like Hypnotism, [Hypnotic Pattern] is very useful for causing your foes to hold still and do nothing while you defeat them one at a time. Of note is that the hypnotism effect does not have a duration, lasting until broken, even if you should leave and come back later, as long as the instance does not reset.

  • Samantha Russel is the community manager for European DUNGEONS & DRAGONS ONLINE™: Stormreach™. She was kind enough to answer a few questions for me about not only her preferences in DDO, but also about Codemasters in general.

  • Will You be Feelin' the Love in DDO?

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and in lieu of chocolates in a heart-shaped box, Ralsu gives us a look at love and romance in online gaming. How will those of us lookin' for love fare in Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO)? Put down that trashy romance novel and prepare yourself by reading our editorial.

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and despite the stereotype that all gamers are overweight males who live in their parents’ basements, many Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) fans will need to think of the perfect gift* to give that special someone. The “holiday” has mutated in recent years with the advent of advanced technology: FTD will let you order flowers online, or you could send an e-card to your love. Cute. But technology—and massively-multiplayer online games (MMOGs)—also changes how we fall in love in the first place.

  • The DDO beta quest journals continues...

Aloyce, Ralsu, and Shayalyn battle undead in an attempt to rescue a missing woman from the clutches of a necromancer in Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach. Follow the party on a new adventure filled with monsters, magic, and intrigue:

I heard the same moaning a man makes as the life force flees his body and two shadowy figures shambled from behind nearby pillars. As the red light fell across their forms, I could see the exposed bones showing from some parts of their bodies and the decaying flesh all over.
