Developed by NetDevil, Jumpgate is an online-only, massively multiplayer space simulation in a persistent game universe. As the owner and pilot of a spacecraft, pilots acquire wealth and status by engaging in trade, mining, or combat with other TRI pilots and AI-controlled factions.

Jumpgate (often referred to as 'Jumpgate Classic') serves as the basis for NetDevil's upcoming Jumpgate Evolution, which is currently preparing for closed beta. While the game can be played with a standard keyboard and mouse set-up, various flight sticks and controllers are also supported. The client download for Jumpgate is free, allowing players to test flight controls in an offline environment and also provides a limited free trial period, after which there is a monthly fee to continue playing.
